Project Team Performance
- effective performance in a project team -
This programme focuses on project teams having to work together for a period of time, and adjourn at the end of the project. It often happens that project teams only get to the “performing” phase of Tuckman and Jensen’s model of Stages of Group Development: Forming – Storming – Norming – Performing – Adjourning, when the project is nearly finished. TBI Adventures believes that structured team interventions contribute to a project team’s success and we therefore developed a programme to optimise team efficiency within project execution. This unique intervention assists teams to arrive earlier at the performing phase of group development.
The programme consists of 3 phases:
Phase 1
Theme: Project Team Preparation
This phase consists of 4 intense days where the team members get to know each other better, build trust and understand their roles and responsibilities within the team. This phase helps to speed up team development to get to the “performing” stage of group development, prior to the starting date of the project.
-
Outcomes
- Individual growth in team context (Includes thinking style analysis)
- Team values
- Team growth in team context
- Project strategy
Phase 2
Theme: Team Maintenance
This phase consists of a number of 1/2 day interventions that will be determined by the project life cycle. As with any team, team composition change regularly and members of the project team may leave or new members may join. This phase helps to onboard new team members.
-

- On-boarding new team members
- Revisit team charter
- Facilitated project execution in a whole-brain way
Phase 3
Theme: Review and learn
This is a one-day intervention where the project team members have the opportunity to reflect on the project and review lessons learnt.
